About this horse

Nightwish is available for a half lease, full lease, or possible lease-to-own to the right home. Nightwish is a 15.1hh grey Warmblood cross mare, 15 years old, turning 16 in October. She was born on my farm, and I had her for the first ten years of her life. She was rehomed in 2021 and returned to me last year. During the years she was away she was mainly used for outrides, so her schooling and jumping were not maintained consistently. She is currently being brought back into work slowly and correctly. At the moment the focus is on rebuilding her strength, fitness and topline through gentle schooling, lunging, pole work and sensible ridden work. She is a lovely mare to ride in the arena and has plenty of experience under saddle. I mainly ride her bitless, although she can also be ridden in a soft snaffle. I am looking for a confident and experienced rider who is happy to take the time to build her up rather than someone looking for a horse to immediately compete or jump big tracks. Ideally, I would love to find someone interested in light schooling, pole work and hacking. Hacking out would only be suitable for an experienced adult rider, as Nightwish can be forward-going outside the arena. She does have jumping experience, but for the next six months I would like her jumping kept to a maximum of 2'3", with the focus remaining on strength, balance and correct work. Nightwish is intelligent, sensitive and has a very definite personality. She bonds strongly with people who are calm, confident and consistent. She is not difficult or nasty, but she does notice immediately when someone lacks confidence, so I am specifically looking for an experienced horse person who enjoys building a relationship with a horse rather than simply getting on and riding. She also has a medical history that I am happy to discuss openly with any serious prospective lessee. She has previously been treated for a tumour on her leg and is currently being monitored. I would rather be completely transparent about this from the beginning. I am open to a half lease, full lease, or lease-to-own arrangement for the right person. I would also be open to relocating her to a suitable yard in a nearby area if that makes the arrangement work, but I would like her to remain within the Garden Route. The exact arrangement can be discussed depending on the rider, what they are looking for, and how well they suit Nightwish. For me, finding the right person is much more important than rushing into an arrangement. She means a great deal to me, and I would love to find someone who genuinely enjoys her, understands her personality, and wants to be part of her next chapter. Please message me privately if you would like more information or would like to come and meet her. --- Listed via SAHorseSales — original listing: https://sahorsesales.com/listing/nightwish-15-1hh-warmblood-cross-mare-lease-lease-to-own-garden-route-muzloe94 — Cross-listed from BuyHorsesOnline.com
