About this horse
Chet Baker (stable name Chet) is a sweet gelding with a lovely personality. Loves cuddles and being groomed more than anything. Really enjoys people, and will form a strong bond with his person. He is the perfect first project horse for someone who is a confident rider but relatively perhaps not the most experienced. He is a forgiving ride, more whoah than go, and is by nature calm and chilled. In familiar places, he can be ridden on the buckle. He loads and hacks out alright but only with another horse (without a friend he does not do either of these easily). He is still young and has only been off the track for the last year, so can be prone to some green moments. This past year he has done basic schooling, and has been introduced to the polo mallet and done stick and balling (so very unfazed by random objects swinging around him, and other horses running up behind him). He has not got any show experience, however he is used to tagging along with polo ponies to practices, chukkas, and polo matches. (And he stands very nicely at the pony lines.) Has done lots of flatwork (e.g. pole work, leg yields nicely at walk and trot, and is good working on both sand or grass). Reason for sale: I as his owner no longer have the time to give him all the care and work that he deserves, and being such a young horse still, I do not want his potential to go to waste. His bloodlines are: sire Querari, dam Saint Angelique, and dam's sire VAR. He would be suitable as an all-rounder, else a show jumping prospect. --- Listed via SAHorseSales — original listing: https://sahorsesales.com/listing/sweet-thoroughbred-gelding-mt9uia57 — Cross-listed from BuyHorsesOnline.com
